I am a young kid in Mesopotamia. We are going through a rough time right now.What's happening is that I live in a small little place with my whole family. The bad thing is that are struggling because we are very poor. Our house is not as strong and what's happening is that right now there are a lot of floods and the Euphrates River and the Tigris River are right next to us. So our houses could be destroyed. At the same time the rain is good because it hardly rains here so we need the water to take a shower and grow crops. If you have any ideas send me a post. So I could get some ideas to save water for later and to not get my house flooded.

ReplyDeleteI do have a great idea...it's called irrigation. It's when you harness the water and contain it. You can control water by digging irrigation ditches and making channels that lift up or down whenever you want. There are cuneiform tablets explaining how to do this at the Sumerian library in Babylon. You should check it out. Good luck!

ReplyDeleteOne thing you could do is rally the people in your community and create a levee to prevent flood waters from destroying your home and crops. A levee is similar to a dam and is made from hardened mud. You may want to ask the ensi to make it a law for people to build and upkeep the levees. From the levees we could build irrigation systems to allow water to transverse to different areas.

Good job on your blog Joseph. Some things you can do is with the river you can grow crops because the river is really good for the crops. And if the rivers floods you can make levves which is made from earth and hard mud. And the water could be used for water to because it didn't have salt in the water. Any way good blog.
